With our key partners OroVerde set to become the world first Ecolgical Fairtrade gold in Jan next year is building to be momentous for the ethical and fairtrade jewellery movement, the culmination of CRED Jewellery's hard work over the past 10 years.

Diamonds - Did you know?

Did you know?• All diamonds are immensely old and were formed long before dinosaurs roamed the earth. The youngest diamond is 900 million years old and the oldest is 3.2 billion years old.
• Every diamond is unique; no two are alike.
• Diamonds exist in many colours not simply ‘white’.
• The most rare diamonds are red.
• Each diamond loses, on average, more than half its original weight during the cutting and polishing process.
• The word ‘carat’ – in measurement used to describe the size of the diamond – comes from the carob tree, whose seed was used as the standard in weighing precious stones.
• Less than 5% of all the diamonds made into jewellery are larger than one carat.

Rachel Entwistle Jewellery comes to Cred

Rachel Entwistle Jewellery has nature at the theme of all her collections but her really influences come from her travels India and Mexico. But also her interest in the arts and crafts movement has played a big part in her designs.
She has created exclusive collections for the Tate Gallery and British Museum.

Her beautiful Survival Collection is made from 100% Recycled Sliver and 100% Recycled Brass which is available from Cred.  The Lily and Organic Leaf design were made for Survival the international organisation campaigning for indigenous peoples rights.

Survival helped the Dongria Kondh who has won a historic battle to save their lands and forests from an open-pit bauxite mine. Vedanta Resources, a British company, intended to dig a bauxite mine on Niyamgiri Mountain in India. The mine would have destroyed the forests on which the Dongria Kondh depend and wreck the lives of thousands of other Kondh tribal people living in the area.
15% of the sale price will go direct to Survival to help towards their campaigns that protect land, community and environmental rights.

New Designer in CRED... Daisy Knights

Its love, it really is and after weeks of waiting we have just received one of our new designers in store. Daisy Knights . Women everywhere will want some of Daisy’s pieces in their stocking this Christmas. The collections are inspired by the country and her friends and family, which the ranges are named after. Her pieces are girly with a rock n’ roll twist. All Daisy’s pieces are beautifully hand made in the UK from recycled sterling sliver.

Even stars have been wearing Daisy Knights. Rebecca Ferguson was stopped wearing the gold vermeil feather ring last week on X Factor and Alexa Chung was seen wearing Daisy Knight at a Donatella Versace’s dinner for Central Saint Martins were Daisy herself graduated. As well as these stars many girls at London Fashion Week had Daisy’s skulls on their fingers.
